!  Mendip Challenge 2009

The Mendip Challenge is our big club event, with competitors coming from all over the country to take part.

Trophy

Next years challenge will be held over the 2nd weekend of October (10/11th), RTV Saturday, CCV Sunday at Lambs Lair, Somerset.

Places go early, so please get your application form in as soon as possible.

Marshals are also required, please email one of our Competition Secretary's (RTV or CCV) to be added to the list.

Camping will be available on site, with toilets and a burger van.

Once again, it is hoped to book somewhere to eat on the Saturday night for approximately 60, so we can all get together to dine, discuss the days events and generally have a good time (transport will be provided, for a minimal fee).

There will be a raffle prior to prize giving each day, with all proceeds going to a local charity (yet to be decided).

Also available will be our Mendip Challenge T-Shirts (£10), green T-Shirt with yellow writing (Mendip

Challenge), these will be available from the Rally Reception/Signing On Tents.

Here a few of the comments we have received so far reference 2008's Mendip Challenge:

I am the Midlands Rover Owners Club RTV Secretary...
We had a bunch of our guys competing last weekend in both RTV and CCV. Thank you for putting on a cracking event. We all enjoyed ourselves very much.

Hi George
Excellent Mendips RTV, thought I was doing well all day with only 12 points until last couple of sections where I managed to get an 8 and a 10, bugger !
Good sections, well organised, brilliant weather what more could we expect from the S & W.
Well done.
Thanks on behalf of the Wye & Welsh LRC

Thanks for a great weekend, 3rd or 4th I have been to and still enjoy every year, thank your team for me.
See you next year

Dear George,
Thank you for organising another challenging day out. I am a member of the Dorset Land rover club. I was the idiot using an 02 plate defender and I would agree that my scores were not stunning, but you can do the trial with a Landrover straight from the forecourt. I might question the turns in relation to the turning circle of a standard Defender, even with modular wheels were very tight, but still had a great day out.
Regards,
D8 Robin Dumbreck
ps can you do a little more branch trimming next year!
